For such a long time I have been drawing and painting trees. The drawings have been about the detail and strange unexpected shapes. The paintings became more about the patterns and shadows they cast. The light shining through them and how it turns up the colours on the woodland floor.
I handprinted my tree drawings and loved introducing colour to them too, sometimes using unexpected palettes that seemed to have a relationship with each other.
My next "notes on.." book will be Autumn and I cannot wait to paint and draw some of these..
