Kids Craft Parties
I began hosting children's craft parties last year.It seemed the perfect thing to do as I already teach projects in schools and run an art club every Saturday for children.
Usually a parent will contact me and tell me about their child's favourite things. I then plan a craft activity around this for the party and also decorate my studio!
The parties last about one hour and a half and cost £12 per child. They are held in my lovely, bright studio in Hebden Brige, West Yorkshire. Here are some examples of parties I have held so far...
Sylvie's Fairies, Flowers and Rainbows Party
This was for a little girl's 5th birthday and she loved fairies, flowers and rainbows.
I made fairy templates for the children to decorate with tissue paper, feathers and crayons. They also decorated rainbows, flowers and fairy wands. There was also a fairy tree to make wishes on!
One of the parents said "It is a party the children will remember coming to, as it is special, not the average"
it was a lovely Sunday afternoon!
Schyler's Harry Potter Party
This was a ninth birthday party with a Harry Potter theme! All the children dressed up and I made the entrance to my studio like platform 9 3/4, from the story.
I made hat bases and the children decorated them to make them into Harry Potter style sorting hats. We had a lot of laughs, Harry Potter music and fitted in a bit of painting too!
Schyler's mum took most of these photographs (being a professional wedding photographer) and said: "It is the little things. The little touches. We all had a great time".
Phoebe's Flora and fauna party
Phoebe likes flowers, wishes and the colour pink. I planned a mono printing activity for this party. The children used stencils, feathers, doilies and bubble wrap to create pretty nature paintings on canvas.
I mixed greens, yellows, pinks and lilac paint and the pictures made were really beautiful.
I asked the birthday girl if she enjoyed the party and she said it was "Awesome".
