Community, creativity and craft fairs!

Posted by Julia Ogden on

Craft fairs are such a lot of work and sometimes can be a bit soul destroying if the stars don't align and they are a bit quiet.

Last weekend I did the Hepworth makers market and it wasn't soul destroying even though the weather was very hot and that effected visitors. The reason it was still so lovely was because the organisers put everything into making it a great fair. There was a cafe, refreshments, lovely ice cream, air con and great music!

I was pleased with my stand and sold a lot of hand printed t-shirts.

I saw loads of makers I already knew and met inspiring new friends.

I was opposite the legend that is Hannah Nunn..

And next door to me was the magical Bokkel Factory.

They create magical creatures with drawings and ceramics..

Emily and I danced to the tunes and Alfher drew this beautiful portrait of me..

Being around such imaginative people at the fair boosted my enthusiasm to make art.

The visitors boosted my confidence; some were new to my work, some were lovely supporters that I am so grateful for. All in all a good fair!
