Last Friday I went to Edinburgh. It was so lovely to be in my old stomping ground.
I stayed at the University Halls in the shadow of Arthur's seat.

I did a lot of sketching..

When I go to Edinburgh I get a more intense zest for sketchbooks, like I have rewinded to my art college obsessions! It helps me have deeper memories of each trip.

I got lost then made it to the Modern Art Gallery..
Where all my dreams came true because there was a Joan Eardley exhibition on. I have loved her landscapes for a long time. I felt quite emotional seeing so many pieces, so carefully curated with other artists work. The exhibition closes on the 28th June, but it is well worth visiting.

Her "paint in all weathers" approach added fuel to my fire!
The next day I met my old flatmates and it felt like time just melted away. It is really precious to see friends from our youth.
Then I made my way to Northumberland, which I will tell you about in another post, as there was too much magic, nature and friendship to fit into one post.
Thank you for reading x
