Leeds Craft Centre and Design Gallery

A gallery that has stocked my prints for a very long time is the beautiful Leeds Craft Centre and Design Gallery they have always been so supportive even when I was a fledgling artist.

I remember walking past it so many years ago dragging my huge portfolio case to Leeds College of Art when I studied there. To imagine I would have my art there one day! My foundation at Leeds was such a special year. Drawing all the time, expanding my ideas of what drawing was; painting with sticks, playing with scale and venturing out and sketching. A truly wonderful foundation.

Back to the Craft Centre! Last week they had Leeds TV filming there to celebrate their Solace Exhibition, all about taking a breath and relaxing in nature. The theme is right up my street and as well as making new prints..

I also have my Hummingbirds there:

I also did some sketching in the tiled cafe at the City Art Gallery above, my foundation tutor would be proud!

 The space is so beautiful!

The interview with me and Florence the gallery manager will be aired on Leeds TV on Monday the 16th of August from 6pm Freeview 7/ SKY 117 or you can view it online if you fancy a watch.
